Public Notice: Important Update on W.G. Jones State Forest

CONROE, TX -- Tomorrow, Saturday, September 7th, logging equipment will arrive at W.G. Jones State Forest for a crucial salvage project. This initiative is necessary to address hazardous trees that were damaged by Hurricane Beryl.

Project Details:

• Start Date: Monday, September 9th
• Location: Initially, north of FM 1488, then moving to the south side of FM 1488
• Impact: All trails will be closed during the project

This salvage work is essential to remove damaged and hazardous trees while preserving the healthy ones. Our primary goal is to ensure the safety of both visitors and staff in the forest.
