September Glowing Tribute Honors POWS/MIAS

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- When service members take an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution, they know they may be asked to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the values and freedoms we all share. And many do. Over 80,000 service personnel are still missing from previous conflicts since WWII. 'You Are Not Forgotten' is the central theme for the POW-MIA Recognition Day that honors American prisoners of war, as well as those still missing in action and their families. This day is commemorated every year on the third Friday of September – September 20th this year.

VFW Auxiliary 12024 The Woodlands invites all District 17 auxiliaries to contribute a 'Glowing Tribute,' honoring these brave warriors, who have not yet returned to their families.

To contribute a Glowing Tribute, simply light a candle (flame or flameless) any time during the month of September, place in a window, take a picture and email it to the Auxiliary at: aux12024glowingtribute@yahoo.com
