THE WOODLANDS, TX – Be An Angel, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children with special needs by providing adaptive equipment, hearing devices, select services, and support programs, has announced that it is seeking volunteers. These volunteers are needed to begin shopping for gifts to be given to more than 7,000 Houston-area, limited-income, special needs children with multiple disabilities or profound deafness.

Each child has an individual wish list. Funded by Be An Angel, the Holiday Gift Program began nearly 40 years ago so that these children can experience the joy of receiving gifts during the Christmas season.

At least 100 volunteer shoppers are needed at each location for each of the following days from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.:

  • November 11 – Wal-Mart 9235 North Sam Houston Pkwy E., Humble
  • November 12 – Wal-Mart 111 Yale St., Houston
  • November 13 – Target 5757 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena
  • November 14 – Wal-Mart 1025 Sawdust Road, Spring / The Woodlands
  • November 15 – Wal-Mart 10750 Westview, Houston

Districts served by this program include the Conroe, Houston, Magnolia, Spring, and Tomball independent school districts.
