BEAUMONT, TX -- The Boy Scouts of America Three Rivers Council has named Entergy Texas as the recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Citizen Award. The prestigious honor was presented during the 40th annual awards dinner at the Beaumont Civic Center, recognizing the company for its exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to the Southeast Texas community.

“The Distinguished Citizen Award is given to individuals or organizations that exemplify the values of the Boy Scouts, including integrity, dedication, and civic responsibility,” said Les Bentley, executive director of The Boy Scouts of America Three Rivers Council. “Entergy Texas sets a positive example by supporting and volunteering in communities throughout Southeast Texas.”

In 2023 alone, Entergy Texas awarded over $3.2 million in grants to more than 170 nonprofit partners and community organizations. Employees in Texas also dedicated more than 17,400 hours of volunteer service, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to creating a positive impact in the communities it serves.
