MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County is holding a series of six informational presentations aimed at helping individuals who have experienced repetitive flooding learn more about the new buyout project under the DR-4781 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. These presentations are designed to inform attendees about the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) home buyout program, providing an opportunity to ask questions and gain clarity on the process.

The buyout program focuses on assisting property owners in flood-prone areas by offering to purchase their homes at fair market value. The goal is to reduce the risk of future flood damage by transforming these vulnerable properties into open space that can serve as a natural flood buffer.

Residents who have been impacted by repetitive flooding are encouraged to attend these presentations to explore their eligibility for the program and understand the next steps if they choose to participate.
