Lone Star College System designated a 2024 Great Colleges to Work For®

HOUSTON, TX -- Lone Star College System once again ranked as one of the best college employers in the nation by the 2024 Great Colleges to Work For® program. LSCS has received this award for eight consecutive years.

“Lone Star College System is pleased to receive this recognition, but more importantly, we are proud to offer our employees a work environment where they are supported and their talents valued, which brings out the best in our students,” said Mario K. Castillo, J.D., LSCS chancellor.

The Great Colleges to Work For® program, a partnership between the Chronicle of Higher Education and ModernThink, LLC., surveyed employees at 216 colleges and universities (an 11% increase from 2023) in 10 categories. LSCS was among the 75 recipients (22 two-year institutions) selected for this year’s award. The college system excelled in five areas:

• Faculty & Staff Well-being and
• Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging.

The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country. The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire on employment data and workplace policies, and a survey completed by faculty, administrators and professional support staff.
