Rotary Event Honoring Area Veterans

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Rotary Club of The Woodlands will honor area veterans Nov. 7 with a special luncheon featuring guest speaker and veteran Dan Alexander, current CEO of Angel Reach.

The special program to honor our area veterans will be emceed by former state Rep. and veteran Rob Eissler, who served as a U.S. Navy carrier pilot and will include special music and events to honor veterans.

Alexander said he will spend time honoring the service that veterans provide to their country and communities.

“My talk will be pointed toward a life of service standing on a foundation of gratitude. I'm going to tell a little bit of my story, and discuss the history of veterans and the impact they have made on our nation. I will also describe how living a life of community service after leaving the military has brought an abundance of gratitude in my life,” Alexander said.

Alexander, born and raised in Montgomery County, graduated from Oak Ridge High School and then studied at Tyler Junior College before enlisting in the U.S. Army just a few weeks before 9-11. Like many in the armed services in that day, he was deployed not long after to serve his country overseas. He served a combat tour in Iraq with the 4th Infantry Division. After his service he returned to become a YMCA youth coach and Young Life Volunteer mentor.

Dan now serves as CEO and Executive Director of Angel Reach a Conroe based non-profit that serves youth at risk of homelessness and kinship families who are helping to keep their child relatives out of the foster care system. He has a Bachelor's of Psychology from LeTourneau University and an MBA from Concordia University. Dan, Anna and their three children live in The Woodlands TX and are members of The Woodlands Methodist Church.
