Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital hosts Stroke Hero reunion celebration event
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Department of Neurology at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital held a special celebration of their former stroke patients at a reunion event. During the program, stroke patients who had undergone treatment at the hospital were given the unique opportunity to reconnect with the men and women who cared for them, from the time their families called 911 through their recovery process.
The event was hosted in the hospital’s Hope Tower 3rd floor conference center. After a morning mingle, Kerrie Guerrero, the chief nursing officer, conducted the opening ceremony, followed by a prayer with Randall Trego, the hospital’s director of spiritual care.
Dr. Nhu Brice, the medical director of neurology, provided the pre-lunch welcome. After the meal, stroke survivors Dayna Savage and Thomas Woody provided the keynote speeches. After the event, the survivors met with all the people who had been intrgral in their survival and recovery from their stroke traumas.
Houston Methodist Hospital has been named the Best Hospital in Texas for 13 years in a row by U.S. News & World Report and recognized on the Honor Roll eight times.
