Dessert for Everyone: 16 Handles to Debut First Houston-area Frozen Yogurt and Soft Serve Shop in Montgomery County
MONTGOMERY, TX -- 16 Handles, the beloved New York City self-serve frozen yogurt brand known for its unique flavors and premium soft serve, will debut a shop at Pine Markert at Woodforest, Montgomery, TX on November 23. The new spot, at 765 Fish Creek Thoroughfare, Suite 100, aims to be the top community-driven destination for frozen yogurt and desserts.
The store is owned and operated by local franchisees and experienced entrepreneurial couple Ryan and Crystal Waugh. Crystal grew up in Houston, attended Texas A&M, and has spent her corporate career in recruiting and human relations. Ryan runs his own winery alongside Crystal, called Waugh Family Wines. The couple lives and has raised their family in the Montgomery area and is excited to branch out into a new business and leave a legacy for their kids, who will also work at the store.
A Grand Opening event is set for November 23rd with free frozen yogurt for the first 100 guests, half-price treats from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and other discounts throughout the weekend. A portion of opening weekend sales will be donated to local charity Love Heals Youth, which was created to raise awareness for foster youth in the child welfare system.
Youtube celebrity Danny Duncan, who is known for viral stunts with over 2 billion online views, and is a part-owner in the brand, will have a special free meet-and-greet experience in the store prior to its grand opening, from 5-7pm on November 22nd. The meet and greet is expected to draw in crowds from the entire region.
16 Handles features 16 soft serve flavors accompanied by over 50 premium toppings and sauces, as well as a variety of frozen novelties such as cakes, take-home pints, and DŌ gourmet edible cookie dough. Soft serve flavors range from vegan, nonfat and no sugar added frozen yogurt to rich and creamy ice cream. The brand pushes the boundaries of innovation, with recent limited-edition flavor launches including French Fry, Squid Ink, Butter Beer, Coconut Lemon Saffron, and Keto Chocolate Brownie, alongside staples like Classic Vanilla, Original Tart, and Made with Nutella. Modern store design with lounge-style seating and late-night hours makes 16 Handles the perfect dessert destination for families, friends and dates.
“We have fallen in love with the 16 Handles premium product, as well as the overall experience of guests who come to the store. We are so excited to launch this new business outside of the wine industry and bring this experience to our community,” said Crystal. “We are confident 16 Handles will
Become that go-to spot for people to enjoy great flavors, connect with friends, and create sweet memories.”
