THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Two Woodlands area elected officials asked the Shenandoah city council to pass a resolution against the plan to expand Grogan’s Mill from four to six lanes between Research Forest and Woodlands Parkway. MUD 67 Director Steve Briggs and Woodlands Township Director Dr. Shelly Sekula-Gibbs made the request during citizen’s forum in council’s November 13 meeting.

Briggs laid out a brief history of the proposal, which first began in 2007. He said the Township recently voted 6-1 to take no action on a resolution which would have opposed the street widening. Gibbs said that the expanded road would impact Shenandoah and increase cut through traffic in Market Street. She noted that about 300 people have already signed a petition which opposes the project.
