THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Parati Competitive Rowing traveled to Waco for the annual Waco Rowing Regatta organized by Waco Rowing Center. The team focused on improving last month’s results and accomplished the mission. Six of the team’s twelve entries finished in first or second place.

Half of the entries make it to the podium

Jay Kirk continued his winning ways, earning a first-place finish in the men’s single (1x). Ava Andrews finished in second place in the women’s single (1x). The women’s novice coxed four (4+) of Katherine Ulrich, Nellie Coleman, Allegra Thompson, Stella Straub, coxed by Presley Yartym finished second. The men’s novice eight (8+) of Timothy Reinhart, Dominic Reinhart, James Straub, Nathaniel Davis, Ryan Seppanen, Rohan Kamdar, Theodore Bodie, John Calder, coxed by Jude Woolsey finished second. The women’s eight (8+) of Regan Adams, Elise Bohn, Addison Bennett, Nellie Coleman, Charlotte Butts, Paige Yartym, Clare McKenna, Juliet Bohn, coxed by Juan Pablo Ramírez finished a strong first, more than 20 seconds ahead of the second-place boat.

Head Coach Michael Rosman commented that “the team has been working hard since we returned from Youth Nationals in June. We picked up a lot of new kids along the way and now that we have finished the fall season, we have a lot to be happy about. This is a strong supportive team with good leadership and a focus on our athlete’s success. I am so grateful for the way our varsity athletes have lifted up the novices and have been willing to teach. More than teaching mechanics like loading the trailer and handling equipment, they are teaching the novices how to be great teammates—this speaks the success of the program.”

Rosman went on, “we are now headed into winter training with a focus on sprint season. We can expect that workouts will get tougher, but our athletes have proven that they can accomplish anything as long as they are willing to work together. I expect some great things this spring.”
