Deputies working DWI Enforcement will be out in full force to remind residents of the serious consequences of drinking and driving.

   • New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day experience a 13% increase in fatal crashes compared to the same time frame in the previous four weeks.

2. Alcohol Involvement:

   • Over 40% of overnight fatal crashes on New Year’s Eve involve alcohol, a figure three times higher than the national average.

3. Increased Risk:

   • The rate of fatal crashes involving an impaired driver spikes to 42% overnight on New Year’s Eve—a staggering 208% increase compared to the rest of the year.
