Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Arrest and Large Drug Seizure

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On February 2, 2025, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office South Patrol Division deputies received information that a wanted suspect out of Harris County was traveling northbound on I-45. Deputies located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old John Philip Simon, was detained. During the stop, deputies discovered a significant quantity of illegal narcotics and vape pens in Simon's vehicle. Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputies took Simon into custody and transported him to the Joint Processing Center in Harris County. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office filed all drug related charges.
