THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Howard Hughes was proud to be honored with the Building Hope award at the Montgomery County Food Bank’s “Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope” gala on Saturday, February 8, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

The Building Hope award honors an organization for its dedication to strengthening and growing Montgomery County Food Bank’s capacity to serve the community. Howard Hughes was recognized for its philanthropic efforts and commitment to the community through supporting the Food Bank’s mission to unite the community to fight hunger. The award was accepted by Jim Carman, President, Houston Region for Howard Hughes.

Howard Hughes has played a key role in the “Build Today, Feed Tomorrow” expansion project from Montgomery County Food Bank as a Champion-level project benefactor, contributing resources, vision and leadership to create an 18,000-square-foot facility that will provide over 1 million more much-needed meals annually to neighbors facing hunger.

Howard Hughes is also a Hunger Hero-level sponsor, with its team regularly volunteering to support the Food Bank’s efforts.

During the gala, Montgomery County Food Bank also celebrated the founder Betty Hardy, who founded the organization 40 years ago in 1985, with a nod to its Ruby Anniversary.
