MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- A friendly reminder from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office: Our deputies, alongside officers from the multi-agency task force organized by Sheriff Wesley Doolittle, will be out in full force tonight. Our primary goal is for everyone to enjoy the car show and get home safely. Please be aware that any illegal activities following the event—such as street takeovers, parking lot takeovers, or street racing—will not be tolerated. For a safe and enjoyable evening, here are a few important reminders

  • Doing burnouts or donuts in a parking lot is a crime punishable by jail time.
  • Blocking a police car in the street or a parking lot is punishable by up to 2 years in jail.
  • Racing is punishable by up to 180 days in jail, a $2,000 fine, and your car can be seized by law enforcement.
  • A racing crash is punishable by up to 20 years in prison if someone is hurt or dies.
  • You can be sentenced up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine if you refuse to leave private property, including a parking lot.

Last year, groups of people did all of the above and caused serious trouble for the community. This year, law enforcement is ready.

Enjoy the car show! Please be safe and stay out of trouble.
