MCTXSheriff Leads Multi-Agency Task Force in Keeping Montgomery County Safe During Car Show Weekend

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- The Montgomery County ‘Operation Safe Streets’ Task Force successfully prevented multiple attempted parking lot takeovers during the first night of a weekend-long enforcement operation.

Law enforcement officers from across Montgomery and Harris County, representing 23 agencies, joined forces to keep roads safe, protect businesses, and ensure citizens could enjoy their community without disruption. Under the leadership of Sheriff Wesley Doolittle, the task force took to the streets with a clear message: safety, cooperation, and adherence to the law are expected, but those who break the law will face consequences.

Over the course of last night, officers conducted 340 traffic stops aimed at curbing racing, reckless driving, street takeovers, amongst other dangerous behaviors.

Enforcement Results:
• 95 citations issued
• 223 warnings given
• 20 arrests were made, including reckless driving and drug-related offenses
• 5 arrests in Harris County for reckless driving and deadly conduct
• 1 juvenile was arrested for reckless driving and released to his parents
• 16 vehicles towed
• 323 individuals were released after compliance and a warning
• 2 vehicles seized
• 2 firearms recovered
• 2 stolen vehicles recovered

Also, several individuals arrested faced drug-related charges as well.

Sheriff Doolittle emphasized the teamwork and dedication of the multi-agency task force, stating:

"This weekend isn't about writing tickets or making arrests—it's about protecting Montgomery County. We are a law and order community, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy their hometown without fear of injury by reckless drivers or illegal activity. The teamwork and dedication from every deputy, officer, and trooper last night proved that when we work together, we win together by keeping our community safe."

The goal of this operation is not punishment but ensure safety and adherence to the law. Law enforcement is asking all visitors and residents to follow the rules, respect the community, and help keep Montgomery County a safe place to live, work, pray, and play.
