MCTXSheriff Arrests Two Suspects for Burglary of a Habitation in Hockley

HOCKLEY, TX -- On February 25, 2025, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office West Patrol Division responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence near the 21000 block of Roberts Cemetery Road in Hockley, TX. While on their way to the residence, the homeowner provided Deputies with a description of the suspect vehicle. As they approached the residence, Deputies spotted the suspect vehicle leaving the area and initiated a traffic stop.

Upon stopping the vehicle, Deputies detained the driver, 32-year-old Damon Sexton, and the passenger, 30-year-old Douglas Chapman. Inside the vehicle, Deputies observed several stolen items in plain view.

Both suspects admitted to breaking into the residence and a nearby camper, where they had taken various items. The suspects were both arrested and are currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail on felony charges of burglary of a habitation.
