THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The teams of 13-6A have soundly separated into clear halves that will see the top four teams reach the promised land of postseason play, with the top two leading the pack.

Two teams inside of the Texas top-80 make up strong contenders that will likely make their cases for deep runs in the upcoming playoffs. But with a few weeks left, the push for perfection and locking up positions will need to be at the front of their minds.

Here are the top four teams in the most recent 13-6A standings.

1st The Woodlands Lady Highlanders

An unmistakable run of near-perfect play has given the Lady Highlanders a chance to end their 2024-25 district run with an unblemished record.

Texas’s 35th-ranked team has torn a path through the rest of 13-6A by a combined score of 47-1. The unbeaten streak of 12-straight wins through district play has seen The Woodlands put together the pieces of an overwhelming offense and rock-solid defense to boat-race nearly every team they have played.

With four games left on the district schedule, the Lady Highlanders will need to continue their impressive play if they hope to end the season with the title and a perfect record ahead of what looks to be a strong playoff run.

2nd Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles

Despite falling in two district losses, the Lady War Eagles have battled with some of the district’s best to make their mark as another state-leading program while keeping pace in the standings.

Oak Ridge’s current state ranking sits the team at 76th, with their wins being founded on balanced play that keeps opponents scoreless while feasting on counter opportunities.

Every district win for the Lady War Eagles has come while maintaining a clean sheet on the scoreboard, highlighting the team’s solid defensive play that will likely carry the squad as they march into the postseason.

3rd College Park Lady Cavaliers

A tight race and some unwanted results have kept College Park from soaring like their rivals, but the team kept up enough of the tempo to secure a playoff spot.

Losses to the district-leading Lady Highlanders and War Eagles have prevented the Lady Cavaliers from entering the district title conversations, but the team’s dependable play against all others has silenced any doubts about their play.

Clean sweeps against the bottom half of the district and a stunning 2-1 win over Oak Ridge in the second week of district have been the cornerstone of College Park’s push to the playoffs. Without any teams directly threatening their spot, the Lady Cavs sit in a comfortable position in the standings.

Should College Park snatch a win over the unbeaten Lady Highlanders, the season would be sent to another level of joy, but the current position of playoff play is a welcome sight for the battle-tested Lady Cavaliers.

4th Grand Oaks Lady Grizzlies

Losses and draws against the top teams have been disappointing, but just enough of a push against the lower half of the district has gotten the Lady Grizzlies into an interesting spot of a playoff future.

Grand Oaks currently sits winless against all three of the other playoff contenders from the district. Three losses and a tie are unwelcome in the optimistic view of the Lady Grizzlies, but crucial wins versus the teams outside the postseason picture have ensured safety for the time being.

Clean sweeps via wins over Conroe, New Caney, and Cleveland have been enough to keep Grand Oaks from slipping out of contention.

Just a few more matches against mid-grade opponents and Oak Ridge are all that separate Grand Oaks from their playoff destinies. Just finish strong, and the postseason awaits.
