HS Football: Oak Ridge’s James Scott Announces Commitment to TCU
OAK RIDGE NORTH, TX -- Standout War Eagle receiver, James Scott, has ridden a wave of strong statistics to complete his commitment to the TCU Horned Frogs ahead of his senior season.
The three-star receiver is coming off a productive junior year that saw him finish as a top-three receiver in 13-6A. His district-leading 59 receptions, combined with 956 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, produced one of the top performances in the district.
Scott’s numbers earned him respect from the coaches of 13-6A, earning him a spot as one of only two Oak Ridge players to be named to the first team all-district offense.
With a strong season under his belt, Scott narrowed down his choices of 27 offers to just five schools. Houston, TCU, USC, LSU, and Texas A&M were all contenders for his services, but the purple and white of the Horned Frogs were his choice.
The promise of a future as a Division I receiver will likely come following a productive senior year. With a new head coach at the helm and fresh faces surrounding him, Scott will aim to be the face of another season of Oak Ridge football.
