December 17, 2024

The club's 13th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign has wrapped up for the fall season with outstanding results with over 1,300 pink shirts sold across the club. The proceeds of the campaign will be divided into multiple areas of support which will include HTX members and staff that are battling cancer along with donations made to local community organizations that provide health care support services.  This year the campaign provided a donation of $15K to In The Pink of Health / Memorial Hermann Foundationand we had the pleasure of hosting representatives from that committee to receive a check at the north office. Over $135K has been donated to local charities since the inception of the program in 2012, with more than 14,300 pink shirts sold and worn in our local communities.

This year's campaign was brought to you by Hunter Family Orthodontics and New York Life.

“We truly value our relationship with HTX Soccer. We appreciate how they fight strong and play hard, raising awareness about breast cancer, one kick at a time,” remarked Patti Jorgensen, In the Pink of Health co-chair.

"It is such an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign with HTX Soccer,” said Dr. Ross Hunter of Hunter Family Orthodontics. “The players do a fantastic job of raising awareness throughout October in our community. My mother is fortunately a breast cancer survivor, so it brings me great joy to see all the pink shirts being worn by the athletes, knowing that a part of the proceeds go towards finding a cure!”

"The New York Life Houston General Office is honored to partner with HTX for such a vital cause. Breast cancer is an issue that, unfortunately, affects many around us and members of our community," said Mychael Nguyen - Managing Partner, New York Life. "It's inspiring to see young athletes who dedicate themselves not only to their sport but also to raising awareness for such an important cause. The presence of pink throughout the month serves as a powerful reminder of the impact breast cancer has on countless women and underscores the importance of ongoing research to find a cure, thanks to the efforts of organizations like HTX."

"It's a very important program that continually grows each year and has become a significant part of our club by aligning with our core value of service, said Simon Boddison, Director of Soccer Operations.  "I would like to thank all the players, parents, sponsors, coaching staff, team managers, volunteers and especially our internal administration team for delivering the campaign in such an efficient manner which will impact many people and different organizations."
