The highly anticipated 22nd Annual The Woodlands Family YMCA Kids Triathlon is set to take place on July 19, 2025, marking the third race in the summer race series. This fun and challenging event is designed to promote fitness, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment in children. The event will be held at The Woodlands Family YMCA at Branch Crossing, 8100 Ashlane Way, The Woodlands, TX, and will start promptly at 7:00 AM. Transition will open at 5:15 AM.
Who Can Participate?
The triathlon is open to children ages 6 – 13 on race day. By special request, an older 5-year-old may be allowed to compete in the age 6 category if they meet the required skill levels. Parents should email Lauren.Jelen@ymcahouston.org to make this request.
All participants must have basic competency in swimming, biking, and running:

Must be able to swim several laps unassisted.

Must be able to ride a bike with pedals.

Must wear a helmet while biking.

Must wear shoes while biking and running.
Race Distances by Age Group

Ages 6 – 9: Swim 50 meters, Bike 1 mile, Run 1 lap of small field.

Ages 10 – 12: Swim 100 meters, Bike 2 miles, Run 1 lap of entire field.

Age 13: Swim 150 meters, Bike 3 miles, Run 1 lap of entire field + 1 lap of small field.
