Job Description

CAS Group is a boutique engineering, urban planning, and program management/construction management firm based in The Woodlands, TX. As a junior engineer - as an intern or part-time employee - within the CAS Group team, you will benefit from hands-on experience, technical and consulting training, significant mentorship opportunities, and developmental programs in a variety of sectors including ports & marine terminals, coastal flooding, waterfront development, power, oil & gas, and much more. You will also gain exposure to client interactions as well as project development and financing.
Responsibilities can include:
• Perform entry-level professional work including developmental assignments.
• Support the execution of various public or private projects.
• Assist in the data collection analysis of reports, maps, drawings, and aerial photographs.
• Assist in development of codes and routines in MATLAB/Python.
• Conduct, under the supervision of a senior engineer, data and engineering analyses, and GIS mapping.
• Ability to translate concepts and design into CAD.
• Assist in the preparation of quantity estimates.
• Be responsible for project quality on tasks assigned as defined in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control guidelines.
• Coastal modeling.
• Participate in coastal field data gathering programs.
• Hydraulic and hydrology modeling.
• Support Project Manager during execution of CM/PM assignments.
• Prepare reports.

Skills Required

• BS in Coastal, Ocean, or Civil Engineering (completed or in process)
• AutoCAD experience preferred
• GIS proficiency preferred
• Experience in coastal, water resources planning, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and other related engineering tasks preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and detail-oriented
