Brighton Academy is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team.

The Assistant Preschool Teacher will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children aged 6 weeks.

This is a part-time/full-time position that requires patience, creativity, and a passion for early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Support the lead teacher in classroom management, including preparing materials and organizing activities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Supervise children during activities, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assist with daily routines such as snack time, nap time, and bathroom breaks.
• Observe and document children’s progress and behaviors, sharing observations with the lead teacher.
• Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child’s activities and progress.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
• Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and parents.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical activities as needed.
