Job Description

Home Place of Texas is a non-profit day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We focus on fun, engaging activities to give our clients purpose in their days. We go on many outings in the community, and volunteer at various places. We also offer a multitude of extra classes and clubs, such as dance, swim, reading, and knitting. Some of our favorite activities include monthly pizza and karaoke day, trips to the park, and hanging out in the community!



General Duties:

Provides supervision and assistance to assigned individuals to ensure their safety and well-being.
Implements training and behavioral programs and relevant service objectives as outlined in the client’s individualized plan.
Provides accurate and timely documentation substantiating the delivery of services to clients as outlined in their individualized plan and company policy and procedures.
Participates in monthly staff meetings
Attend fundraisers/parent meetings, special events as needed
Follow daily schedule as assigned by Supervisor
Follow Policy and procedure as described in Program Handbook
Maintain privacy of health, identification, and personal info of clients at all times.
Other duties as assigned.


Working Conditions:

Both indoors and outdoors with varying temperatures
Noise level is generally moderate to loud
Fun, fast paced setting

Skills Required

Qualifications/Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED Required
18 years of age
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Proof of current auto insurance
CPR Certification (can be obtained after hiring)
Able to lift up to 50lbs
Able to stand/walk for long periods of time
Able to reach/bend to assist clients
Proficient in reading/writing
General computer knowledge


Must be able to pass the following background checks:

Criminal History
Sex offender registry
Office of Inspector General Exclusions and Nurse Aide Registry list

Compensation:

Starting at $40,000/year
