If you are looking for tortilla chips and tacos for dinner, Mi Luna- Tapas Restaurant and Bar is not the place for you (and it will most definitely be your loss!). Instead, Mi Luna presents the Spanish culture in a new, unmatched way. They pull their ideas from the more traditional Spain which creates an experience that no one should be without.

Mi Luna- Tapas Restaurant and Bar in Indian Springs Offers Unparalleled Spanish Culture

Tapas originated many centuries ago. Dusty Spanish taverns would cover glasses, wine, or beer with bread, cheese, or sausage in order to keep the soldiers sober and the flies out of the drinks of customers. But the Spanish found these lids to be quite tasty, and would often choose their favorite bar by the quality of its tapas. Accompanied with a wide variety of wines, tapas have evolved into a complete dining experience. Mi Luna is the epitome of a true tapas dining experience.

When you walk through the giant wooden doors into the cool air of the restaurant, it is no mistaking that you will be fed well and enjoy your time there. The atmosphere at Mi Luna is so remarkable that nothing can even begin to compare. Everything about the restaurant resembles Old Spain, not a detail is left out. The walls are painted a darker shade of red and yellow. Giant booths line the walls and each one has a beautiful chandelier overhead. Tables are dispersed throughout the restaurant so there is plenty of seating. However, if you come during the busy hours of lunch or dinner, Mi Luna has taken care of you, too. There are window seats with enormous pillows for you to relax on while you wait for a table. The fabric is a rich red and lures you into the full Spanish atmosphere before your dining experience has even begun.

There was one thing that caught my attention immediately. Over the booths is a Spanish roof with Old Spanish shingles. This detail gives customers the chance to feel as if they truly are in a different country. Pictures line the walls of bulls and their fighters so that you are unable to escape your temporary journey to Spain.

Towards the front of the restaurant is a decent sized stage for the live entertainment. Here, bands play festive music while you eat, or you can even catch people dancing. Besides, what would a Spanish restaurant be without fun?

Manager David Teran told Woodlands Online, ?Fun here is a huge factor!?

Also, a large bar fills the middle of the room and beckons customers of age to buy a drink. Everything is designed so intricately and marvelously that the atmosphere alone could make you never want to leave.

But wait! There is more-much more, and I am most definitely talking about the food.

?Our drink specialty is the homemade Sangria. Food wise, try the paella. It?s what we are known for,? Teran continued.

I couldn?t help but have a little bit of everything. I ordered chicken, beef cabobs and some eggplant and the paella (all are listed under Spanish names, but I?m a little rusty). Paella is a mixture of different rice that combines to create the most spectacular meal. The food does not all come out at once, instead, it comes out whenever it is ready.

Sharing is something quite uncommon in restaurants nowadays. Most people order food to enjoy for themselves, but Mi Luna brings the food out in a way that it is to be shared.

?This is what helps make us so unique. We give people an opportunity to experience the Spanish and Latin culture of sharing at Tapas. It forces you to get to know each other and get connected with those at your table,? Teran said.

When the food began arriving, not only did it smell good, but it looked like I was dining in a restaurant that celebrities would dine in. Each plate had been carefully cooked to my liking and was looked as if the chef had spent hours preparing my special meal. My lips watered. As I delved into the food, I couldn?t help but be carried deeper into the Spanish culture. The food was indescribable. It was truly the best Spanish food I have ever tasted.

The manager of Mi Luna, David Teran, was friendly enough to give Woodlands Online an inside peek into his life at Mi Luna. Teran has worked there for four years, but before he became manager he was a waiter. His love and commitment to the restaurant, like those working around him, is strong.

?I want to get people to understand the concept of Tapas. I hope the concept stays for a long time and everyone enjoys the theme which is a fun atmosphere that is laid back. We bring variety, taste, flavor and fun to The Woodlands here at Mi Luna. Also, we stay open late- you won?t find that at other places.?

Not only is the restaurant?s atmosphere unparalleled and the food outstanding, but the work staff is amicable and alert. They truly are there to make your experience one of a kind.

So grab the family and head to Mi Luna-Tapas Restaurant and Bar today! It is nestled back in the Indian Springs Shopping Center next to Ya Asain Bistro. It stays open late and is guaranteed to keep you coming back.
