The Counter now open at Market Street

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Counter Custom Built Burgers, a new "burger bar" restaurant, officially opened to the public on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Market Street in the spot formerly housing Johnny Rockets.
The new restaurant is the company's second Houston area location since opening along the Washington corridor last year.

We are confident that our Woodlands guests will embrace and enjoy our unconventional approach to the burger experience!”
By touting more than 312,120 different burger combinations, The Counter makes every burger as unique as each customer. Nearly 80 percent of The Counter’s customers choose the “Build Your Own Burger” option and get creative with hundreds of thousands of possible variations. Upon arrival, guests receive a clipboard to create a custom burger or choose from Signature Burgers, Signature Burgers in a Bowl, Sandwiches and Starters. Rarely is the same burger made twice in one day.
Guests can select from three sizes of proteins – one-third, two-third and one-pound – made from hormone and antibiotic free, humanely raised and handled fresh Angus beef that is ground daily, grilled chicken breast, ground turkey or house-made veggie and an array of 12 cheeses, 33 toppings, 21 unique sauces and four types of buns. Alternatively, guests can choose a bun-free Burger in a Bowl. Sample toppings and sauces include: dill pickle chips, roasted green chiles, corn and black bean salsa, fried egg, honey cured bacon, basil pesto and chipotle aioli.
For drinks, The Counter offers hand scooped ice cream shakes, malts and floats, as well as a diverse selection of craft beers and wine.
The "Market Selection" menu will feature locally sourced and sustainable protein, cheese, topping, sauce and bun. Available for every step on the BYOB (Build Your Own Burger) menu, Market Selection choices allow you to individualize your burger beyond the standard offerings. In addition, The Counter chefs also provide Market Selection signature burgers and bowls featuring items from their local Market Selection choices.
The 2,700 square foot restaurant features industrial design, breezy outdoor patio, and large roll-up “garage door” windows. A mix of classic rock, hip-hop, jazz and top hits provides the soundtrack within the sleek and industrial-designed restaurant.
