A letter in support of Gordy Bunch
To the Editor:
This is a letter of support for Gordy Bunch, candidate for Texas Senate, District 4. I have known Gordy Bunch since he was 14 years old. As a teenager, he was a hard-working individual at several fast food restaurants in College Station, learning early the value of work ethic and managing money wisely. This was just the beginning of his ascent to become an Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for Houston and the Gulf Coast.
When he was nineteen, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and was honored with several distinctive awards for his service to our country. For the record, Gordy Bunch is the only candidate in the Texas Senate, District 4 race who has actively served in the military.
After moving through the ranks of the insurance industry and excelling with numerous awards as a top agent, Gordy started his own business with $10,000 of his own money that he and his wife, Michelle, had managed to save. They founded The Woodlands Financial Group (TWFG) in 2001. During past major hurricanes when long-term power outages occurred, Gordy bought generators and set up his business in the parking lot to assist his customers with their much-needed claims. When another insurance group decided to go out of business, Gordy worked long hours evenings and on weekends to help salvage lost policies and convert them to other policies. This was not only beneficial to his customers, but it also provided TWFG jobs for those agents who had worked for the company that went out of business. That is the type of leadership Gordy Bunch exemplifies. He cares about his customers and cares equally for each and every one of his employees.
While Gordy and Michelle are both giving individuals, they never brag about the support they provide to community organizations. In fact, a campaign volunteer recently told me that he never knew Gordy gave to so many charities or supported so many events, because Gordy had never mentioned it in any conversation or at any debate forum. That’s Gordy Bunch!
As an elected member of The Woodlands Township, Gordy has worked diligently to accomplish the goals set forth during his campaign. His record of achievements is documented in the public minutes of each meeting. In the Texas Senate, Gordy Bunch will help our state prioritize spending to allow for greater efficiencies, at less cost, and with more effective and measurable results. The citizens of the 4th Senate district can count on Gordy Bunch to obtain positive results. He has a record of doing so for The Woodlands Township government, and he will do it for the entire district.
Gordy Bunch is a man of integrity, faith, and family values. Gordy is a Christian, but he does not have to proclaim it to those who know him. He is one who “walks the walk” by his actions and the example he sets for others. Gordy is a listener, a problem solver with viable solutions. He can relate to individuals from all walks of life, regardless of culture, income, age, or other elements. As a proven leader in his career, he is a visionary who will strive to make Texas an even better place to live.
Gordy has received the endorsements of the two most influential and largest newspapers in the district, The Houston Chronicle and The Beaumont Enterprise. These endorsements certainly speak well of Gordy, since he is from outside political circles. He is smart, thoughtful, and has a good grasp of the issues. When asked a question, he gives straight, truthful answers with solutions, rather than dodging the questions with typical political rhetoric.
I urge each and every voter to learn more about Gordy Bunch by visiting his website at www.GordyBunchforTexas.com. Remember, Early Voting ends on Tuesday, May 6 with Election Day on Saturday, May 10, the day before Mother’s Day. Every vote is important, so please make your vote count!
