THE WOODLANDS, Texas - On Thursday, July 14, 2016, at approximately 4:20 PM, an individual called 911 reporting that he witnessed two males, with their faces covered with bandanas and armed with handguns, enter a business, Check N Go, in the 25900 block of Interstate 45 North, in Spring, Texas.

The two males entered the business, both brandished handguns, and demanded money. The suspects were given an undisclosed amount of money and then left the store. Another individual that witnessed the males enter the store and was armed with a handgun, confronted the two suspects in the parking lot as they were attempting to leave in a suspect vehicle. The individual attempted to stop the suspects at gunpoint, when one of the suspects reportedly raised their weapon toward him. The individual who attempted to stop them discharged his handgun at the suspect vehicle. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle, traveling onto the Interstate 45 feeder road.

As suspect and vehicle information came in it was aired over the radio. A Sheriff’s Office unit converging on the area located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it. The suspect vehicle fled from the pursuing unit until crashing into an apartment complex entrance, at the Woodwind Village Apartments, which is located off of Budde Road. The two suspects then jumped out of the vehicle and proceeded to flee on foot through the apartment complex. The deputy continued to pursue the suspects on foot, one of which was witnessed running with a handgun in his hand. Another deputy that converged on the area entered the apartment complex searching for the fleeing suspects. As that deputy drove through the complex, the two suspects emerged running from between buildings. One of the suspects, who was carrying a handgun in his hand, ran directly in front of the moving patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle struck the suspect, knocking the suspect down, and the handgun out of his hand. The suspect immediately got up and continued to flee without the gun. Both suspects left the apartment complex and fled east toward Oak Ridge Road.

Multiple agencies converged on the area, along with canine units. The suspects were witnessed fleeing in several different locations. Deputies located one of the suspects hiding under a motor vehicle in the area. A canine unit later located the second suspect hiding in a garage/shed. The gun that was knocked loose out of one of the suspect’s hand in the apartment complex was located in the parking lot, along with recovered money. After a lengthy search, the second gun was eventually located by a canine unit.

Both suspects were arrested for aggravated robbery, with other charges pending. One suspect was transported to a hospital. After being evaluated and treated at the hospital, he was transported to the Montgomery County Jail Complex, in Conroe. The other suspect was additionally transported to the Montgomery County Jail Complex. The only injury reported during this incident was the suspect that was transported to the hospital.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crime Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office arrived on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
