THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office recently received more than $42,000 from the Federal Justice Assistance Grant to purchase Automated External Defibrillators also known as AEDs.

These AED’s are similar to the Montgomery County Hospital District AED’s that are deployed on ambulances throughout Montgomery County. Each patrol district will receive five AED units. Four of the AEDs will be deployed in patrol vehicles evenly around Montgomery County and the remaining AED will be placed in a permanent location at each district patrol office.

Sheriff Henderson believes that having AEDs on patrol, and readily available by deputies, saves precious time and can improve the odds of survival. Placing AEDs in the workplace, along with providing proper training for employees on how to use these devices, can mean the difference between life and death.
