THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC) is pleased to share updated residential plans for the island at East Shore. The newly named Aria Isle at East Shore will consist of 25 single-family detached homes situated on homesites overlooking Lake Woodlands, ranging from a half-acre to over one-acre.

Aria Isle at East Shore to Include 25 Custom Homesites

The revised plans reflect a reduction in the number of homes slated for development on Aria Isle at East Shore. In October 2020, Howard Hughes partnered with East Shore residents to announce an updated development plan for the island including up to 30 single-family, detached homes. Howard Hughes has elected to place only 25 homesites on Aria Isle at East Shore, creating plans for a gated, high-end development which complements the community of East Shore.

“We are excited to share with the community our plans for the new residences located on Aria Isle at East Shore,” said Heath Melton, who led the planning of the project as Executive Vice President of Residential Development for HHC in the Houston region. “In keeping with our long-standing commitment to the preservation of our natural environment, we envision Aria Isle to be the heart of Lake Woodlands.”

Howard Hughes is setting aside dedicated green space on the island, offering an environmentally sound ecosystem for the American Bald Eagles which have frequently visited the island while hunting in Lake Woodlands. Eagles in The Woodlands have fledged over 30 eaglets since 2000 with one of the more popular, long-time nesting sites located within the nearby 79-acre, mixed-use development of Hughes Landing®.

The name “Aria” originates from the Italian word for “air,” and is defined as a melody for a solo performance. Aria Isle at East Shore is a private island of thoughtfully landscaped homesites which have been integrated harmoniously into their natural setting—surrounded by the calming sound of the breeze across the water of Lake Woodlands. The naming of the boulevard and courts on the island will correspond with the theme of the community.

Known as the “Garden District” of The Woodlands Town Center, East Shore borders the eastern edge of the 200-acre Lake Woodlands and offers connectivity to the award-winning The Woodlands Waterway®. Residents enjoy tree-lined streets, neighborhood parks, and a convenient location with easy access to shopping, dining and entertainment.
