Summer intersection improvements along Woodlands Parkway nearing completion
THE WOODLANDS, TX - Montgomery County Precinct 3 and contractor Teamwork have teamed up to complete a handful of intersection improvement projects over the summer before the new school year starts back up in mid-August.
Woodlands Parkway at Kuykendahl Road
A second left-turn lane was constructed on southbound Kuykendahl Road turning onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway. The turn lanes also were extended, adding storage and enabling more vehicles to clear the intersection during each signal cycle. The construction was completed in mid-July.
Construction continues on westbound Woodlands Parkway at Kuykendahl Road, where crews are extending the storage on the left-turn lanes that turn onto southbound Kuykendahl Road.
At the end of the project, sod will be added along the medians.
Woodlands Parkway at Gosling Road
Earlier this summer, crews extended the left-turn lanes on southbound Gosling Road turning onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway, and on westbound Woodlands Parkway turning onto southbound Gosling Road.
These turn-lane extensions will ease traffic congestion at the intersection as well as along the thoroughfares, while also enabling more vehicles to clear the intersection during each signal cycle.
Birnham Woods Drive-Lexington Boulevard signalization
Precinct 3 and the Traffic Operations team are completing the installation of signal poles, mast arms, signal heads and signage at the intersection of Birnham Woods Drive and Lexington Boulevard.
The signalized intersection is expected to be fully operational by the beginning of August prior to the start of the school year.
Hanna Bridge Repair
Pavement repair on the bridge along Hanna Road north of Rayford Road was completed in June.
Concrete/Asphalt pavement repairs
Precinct 3 worked with contractor Rebel this summer on several concrete repairs along northbound Grogan’s Mill Road between Sawdust Road and Woodlands Parkway, as well as at the entrance to Grogan’s Point.
Precinct 3 also is working with contractor Hayden Paving on asphalt shoulder repair and replacement on the Woodlands Parkway entrance and exit ramps on the west side of Grogan’s Mill Road, as well as along northbound Grogan’s Mill Road.
