CONROE, TX -- Henry's Home, Horse and Human Sanctuary, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving Veterans and First Responders through equine-assisted learning, proudly announces the retirement of its founder, Donna Stedman. As we celebrate our 10th year of service, we also mark a new chapter with significant leadership changes designed to guide us into the future.

Reflecting on her retirement, Donna Stedman shares, “After ten years of dedicated service, I am grateful to the unwavering support of our staff, volunteers, and community in fulfilling our mission of service to our horses and heroes. They have worked tirelessly by my side to build the start of something bigger than us. Now, I can leave what we have started in the good hands of our dedicated board of directors and staff while I enjoy the next season of my life.”

Jason Petrie, President of the Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for Donna Stedman's dedication and vision: 'Donna has been the heart and soul of Henry's Home. Her tireless work in building a sanctuary that provides invaluable services to our Veterans and First Responders is nothing short of extraordinary. We are deeply grateful for her contributions and wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.'

Darlene Gagnon, previously Vice President of the Board of Directors, has stepped down from her board position to assume the role of interim CEO. Her transition underscores our commitment to evolving and expanding our healing and personal growth mission through equine-assisted learning and natural horsemanship.

Jason also highlighted Darlene’s extensive experience and the board’s unanimous support of her new role: “Darlene brings a wealth of knowledge, having successfully run three businesses. Her business acumen and strategic vision are invaluable assets to our organization. The board united behind her decision to take on the interim CEO role for the next 18 months, confident in her ability to lead us toward becoming a premier horse sanctuary and equine-assisted learning center.”

Reflecting on her interim role, Darlene Gagnon shared her aspirations for the sanctuary's future:
'Our mission is to become a leading equine-assisted learning center through a natural horsemanship approach. Simultaneously, we will continue to provide a forever home & loving dedication to our horses, who are an extension of our family. Our vision is to continue to be a beacon of hope and transformation for our heroes, creating a sanctuary where Veterans and First Responders with our horse family find solace, empowerment, and a renewed purpose. I am honored to lead this incredible organization, staff, and volunteer staff during such a pivotal time.”
Henry's Home remains steadfast in its mission to offer a safe and supportive environment where individuals can experience the transformative power of horses-animal bonds. As we embark on this new era, we invite our community to join us in celebrating a decade of service and looking forward to many more years of making a difference.
