THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township is filled to the brim with events, happenings, and specials to celebrate the 248th birthday of the United States. It looks like the weather will play nice, at least for the first part of the long holiday, so plan on hitting as many of these as you like with relative security.

Tonight, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion will play host to the Houston Symphony as they present the annual Star-Spangled Salute concert… at no cost! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs if you haven’t already secured a covered seat and have a ball with live music and kid-friendly activities.

The fun kicks off early Thursday morning as hundreds of people line up dozens of floats to participate in the South County 4th of July ‘Stronger Together’ Parade, launching from The Woodlands Methodist Church and ending at Market Street. While the parade starts at 9 o’clock in the morning, pre-parade festivities presented by Market Street start an hour earlier; arrive early to get a good spot! If you can’t make it in person, stay tuned to Woodlands Online as we livestream the entire event.

Throughout the entire Independence Day daytime, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., The Woodlands Red, Hot & Pool will take place at all Township pools. Each pool will have patriotic decorations, activities, and refreshments while supplies last. from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. with the 4th of July activities happening between noon and 4 p.m. Grab your swimsuit and we'll see you there! Please note daily fees will apply for residents and non-residents. Entry is free for season pool pass holders.

Across the freeway at Oak Ridge North, they’ll be presenting their annual 4th of July Parade, Party in the Park, and Car Show at Marilyn Edgar Park. Parade starts at 10 a.m., Party in the Park runs from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., and Car Show runs 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

If you’re on the outskirts of the Township and don’t feel like traveling too far, Pine Market in Woodforest will be decked out in red, white and blue for a star-spangled celebration of America, 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, at 885 Pine Market Avenue in Montgomery. The event features live music from Walker County Line Band, pony rides, face painting, balloons, a rock wall, giant slide, and more. Admission is free!

The big bonanza on Thursday, however, is the 27th annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza. Celebrate freedom in The Woodlands with great food, live entertainment, children’s activities and family fun at multiple locations around The Woodlands: Town Green Park, Northshore Park, Waterway Square, Rob Fleming Park, and Hughes Landing. All sites will feature live music beginning at 6 p.m. with bands playing until the Fireworks Extravaganza at approximately 9:30 p.m. The primary fireworks display will be located in Lake Woodlands adjacent to Northshore Park, with a secondary close-proximity (special effects) display at Town Green Park. The 2022 Fireworks Extravaganza will also feature a fireworks display in the Waterway Square District near Timberloch Place and Waterway Avenue, and Rob Fleming Park in the Village of Creekside Park. Woodlands Online will be set up to bring you a live broadcast of the fireworks celebration with a fun-filled preshow livestream.

The fun continues on Friday at the City of Magnolia’s annual fireworks show on July 5th at Magnolia Unity Park. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. and the fireworks show will begin at 9:00 p.m. There will be food trucks, inflatables, live music, face-painting, and fun for all ages… with free entry!
