CONROE, TX -- On July 4, 2024, at approximately 8:59 PM, the Montgomery County Dispatch Center received a 911 call in reference to a female who had fallen of a boat near the Scott’s Ridge Boat Ramp, just north of FM 1097. Initial reports stated several others had entered the water in an attempt to locate the female but were unsuccessful.

Montgomery County Precinct 1 Marine Division, along with Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens, the Montgomery County Hospital District, North Montgomery Fire Department, and the Conroe Fire Department responded to the area arriving on location within minutes.

After several hours of searching, the female who has not been identified at this time was located by rescue and recovery divers at approximately 11:30 PM. Due to conditions surrounding the drowning, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens have taken the primary role for this investigation with the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office assisting.

Constable Philip Cash expresses his deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim and reminds everyone on Lake Conroe to utilize life safety equipment whenever you are on a boat or in the water. No matter your expertise in the water, personal floatation devices (PFD’s or life jackets) save lives.

This is an ongoing investigation and any additional information will be released by Texas Parks and Wildlife as it becomes available.
