MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- July 5th 10pm update: Hurricane Beryl now down to Tropical Storm status as emerged from the Yucatan Peninsula and entered the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center has shifted the forecast conr further northeast along the Texas Gulf Coast. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for much of the Texas coast including up to Galveston Bay.

Over the next 24 hours as Beryl strengthens and more confidence is in the ultimate forecast everyone along the Gulf Coast including residents in Montgomery County need to stay weather aware and start making preparations for landfall tomorrow.
Likely landfall early Monday morning with heavy rains, possible tornadoes and some chance of sustained tropical storm force wind for our area is possible Monday-Tuesday.

We will bring any watches or warnings in realtime. Additionally, as new forecasts are put out we will share them. We expect a briefing at 11 am tomorrow with the National Weather Service.
