BRENHAM, TX -- Did you know July is not only the month for celebrating all things ice cream but cheesecake, too? And now you can enjoy both in one delicious dessert from Blue Bell! Cookies ‘n Cream Cheesecake Ice Cream, a rich, cheesecake ice cream blended with chocolate cookie crusted cheesecake pieces and chocolate crème-filled cookies, arrives in stores beginning today.

This year is the 40th anniversary of National Ice Cream Month. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday as National Ice Cream Day (July 21). The following year, July 30 officially became National Cheesecake Day.

“Of course, we enjoy ice cream every day at Blue Bell, but to make July a little extra special, we have introduced our new Cookies ‘n Cream Cheesecake Ice Cream,” said Sara Schramm, marketing brand manager. “If you love our Cookies ‘n Cream Ice Cream and cheesecake, this is your dream flavor. We combined our crème-filled cookies with cheesecake ice cream and kicked it up another notch with the chocolate cookie crusted cheesecake pieces. A delicious treat in every bite.”

Cookies ‘n Cream Cheesecake Ice Cream is available in the half gallon and pint sizes for a limited time.

Also, look for new A&W® Root Beer Float Ice Cream from Blue Bell. The flavor is a creamy vanilla ice cream swirled together with an A&W Root Beer flavored sherbet. “A&W Root Beer Float Ice Cream is the perfect addition to our lineup,” Schramm said. “We were inspired to create this flavor after the success of Dr Pepper® Float Ice Cream last year. Both are a great addition to all of your summer gatherings.”
