Lone Star College awarded Highly Established Action Plan Seal

HOUSTON, TX -- Lone Star College has earned the Highly Established Action Plan Seal for the 2024 election cycle from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) for developing a nonpartisan democratic engagement action plan. The ALL IN mission is to foster civic culture and institutionalize democratic engagement activities and programs at colleges and universities, making them a defining feature of campus life.

“Lone Star College hopes to inspire our students to become active members of their community,” said Seelpa Keshvala, Ph.D., executive vice chancellor, CEO LSC-Online. “The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge provides Lone Star College students with the knowledge, skills, behaviors and values needed to be informed and active citizens.”

LSC was one of 192 colleges nationwide to have earned this recognition for the 2024 election cycle. A rubric was developed to judge the submitted action plan with LSC scoring at least 31.5 of 36 possible points. Other participating higher education institutions include Harvard, University of Texas at Austin, University of California, Los Angeles and George Washington University.

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenges empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in nonpartisan student democratic participation by providing structure and encouraging commitment which results in student engagement. This is the third year LSC has been recognized by ALL IN.
