THE WOODLANDS, TX — The Rotary Club of The Woodlands, currently celebrating its 50th year of providing service to the community, recently announced that it has donated a total of 250 gallons of blood tover a series of blood drives.

"Over the years, the Rotary Club of The Woodlands has consistently hosted blood drives through the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. This year we have reached 250 gallons of total cumulative blood donated by our club. In the month of Halloween, we celebrate the precious commodity that is human blood. With each blood donation about a pint, and with eight pints to a gallon, that’s roughly 2,000 blood donations from our club. A single donation can save up to three lives; the Rotary Club of The Woodlands has saved 6,000 lives through blood donations," said Craig Eissler, board member of Rotary Club of The Woodlands.

Members of the club celebrated this significant milestone at its most recent weekly meeting at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course Ballroom. The milestone was noted by the presentation of 250 empty gallon milk containers and a presentatoin by members of the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Not surprisingly, there was a blood donation bus on site to accommodate the members who signed up for yet another donation.
