The Woodlands Behavioral Health and Wellness Center Welcomes Dr. Rebecca Cook, Psy.D., Trauma and Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Behavioral Health and Wellness Center is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Rebecca Cook, Psy.D., to our team of experts. Dr. Cook brings a wealth of knowledge and advanced training in trauma assessment and intervention, offering specialized services for individuals struggling with complex trauma, PTSD, substance use, and co-occurring disorders such as anxiety and depression.

Dr. Cook received her doctoral education at the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium in Palo Alto, CA, and has conducted extensive research on borderline personality disorder and substance use. With clinical experience from a variety of settings, including residential programs, multidisciplinary medical clinics, and community mental health, she offers a compassionate and evidence-based approach to her clients. Her doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Veterans Affairs, Pacific Islands Healthcare System provided her with advanced skills in treating trauma and related challenges.

At The Woodlands Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, Dr. Cook provides a range of services, including individual therapy, intensive treatment programs, group interventions, and comprehensive psychological assessments. She is trained in evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Trauma-Informed Guilt Reduction (TrIGR), and will soon offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

In addition to trauma-specific interventions, Dr. Cook has extensive experience teaching Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, empowering clients to improve emotion regulation and manage difficult behaviors more effectively.
