MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024 Constable Gable’s CID Special Victim’s Unit, in conjunction with the Houston Police Department’s ICAC Division, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, executed a residential and arrest warrant at a residence located in Harris County, Texas.

The warrants stemmed from a proactive investigation conducted by Constable Gable’s ICAC Detective. Constable Gable’s ICAC Detective received information related to two juvenile victims who were allegedly being sexually abused by Shawn Joseph Mullen in Houston, Texas. Mullen was actively chatting online detailing the assaults of the juveniles. The investigation led to an arrest warrant for Mullen related to the sexual abuse that occurred in the jurisdiction of Montgomery County. The residential search warrant led to the recovery and rescue of two juvenile victims. Upon apprehension of Mullen, he was arrested for Indecency with a Child By Contact, with several additional charges pending in Harris County to include possession and promotion of child pornography, production of child pornography, and more.

Over the past two weeks, Constable Ryan Gable’s ICAC Detective, in collaboration with the Houston Police Department’s ICAC division, has relentlessly pursued the case. On October 17th, 2024, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office presented the findings, evidence, and investigation efforts to the Grand Jury. Mullen was indicted on an additional charge of Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child on Thursday, October 17th, 2024.

Constable Gable will continue to hunt those who choose to hunt and exploit our children. The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office is a proud member of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.
