Woodlands Township holds board meeting as Election Day looms
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on October 21. There were several agenda items and proclamations during the meeting including:
- A Veterans Day proclamation read by Richard Franks
- A proclamation for The Woodlands Recycles Day read by Brad Bailey
- A report by President and CEO Monique Sharp that acknowledged Jason Bean, a Senior Environmental Education Specialist with The Woodlands Township, for his leadership in the Township’s Mosquito Surveillance and Education Program.
- The approval of Woodlands Parkway and Grogan’s Mill Road Art Structure
- Quarterly Law Enforcement Reports
- A discussion on the H-GAC regional transportation plan future proposed project to widen Grogan’s Mill Road
- The scheduling of a public hearing on the establishment of fees for certain covenant administration permits
- The acceptance of the September 2024 Financial Report
- The approval of Bear Branch Park parking lot improvements
- The approval of Alden Bridge Sports Park Renovation Project Phase 1: Design
- The Woodlands 50th Anniversary Events and Activities Recap
- The approval of a proposed revision to the Ad Hoc Economic Development Committee Strategic Initiatives
- The acceptance of Village Presidents’ Council Report
Township board meetings are open to the public. Currently, four positions – 1, 2, 3, and 4 – are up for election in November (with early voting already in progress), with only Position 2’s Linda Nelson running unopposed.
