THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Residents of The Woodlands are invited to participate in a special one-day collection event to protect their privacy and help divert e-waste from landfills. Shred Day & Electronics Recycling Drive Thru will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Sterling Ridge Park and Ride, located at 8001 McBeth Way, The Woodlands, 77382.

In celebration of America Recycles Day, The Woodlands Township is offering this secure and contactless service to ensure residents can safely dispose of sensitive documents and select electronics. This event provides a convenient and responsible way to protect personal data, whether stored digitally or on paper, while also contributing to environmental sustainability.

Residents are encouraged to bring unwanted electronics and confidential documents to this free event to help safeguard personal information from identity theft, reduce the risk of potential fire hazards and contribute to a more sustainable future by ensuring that valuable materials from electronics are recycled and reused. Shred Day & Electronics Recycling Drive Thru offers an excellent opportunity to declutter homes while helping the community stay safe and environmentally conscious.

In addition to promoting safety within the community and minimizing our strain on natural resources, Shred Day & Electronics Recycling Drive Thru also serves a charitable purpose. Attendees are invited to contribute to a worthy cause by donating five non-perishable food items or $5.00 per box of documents or electronics or for each electronic larger than a box. All donations will directly benefit the Interfaith of The Woodlands Food Pantry, supporting its mission to assist those in need.

Help by following these guidelines:
Please refrain from using binder clips or binders. Box documents separately from electronics and place all items in your trunk or back seat. Volunteers will provide a full-service drive thru, so please stay in your vehicle. No business items or batteries will be accepted. Proof of Township residence is required for electronics recycling.
