County Judge Keough lifts disaster declaration, burn ban
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The recent rains have ended the two-month-long drought tat pervaded Montgomery County and prodded County Judge Mark Keough to issue a disaster declaration and burn ban on October 14.
Today, Judge Keough released the following statement on his official county social media:
With recent rains the threat of a catastrophic wildfire has diminished. So after consulting with our fire officials and the county fire marshal, I am rescinding the disaster declaration that was put in effect preventing outdoor burning.
As a reminder burning trash is prohibited by law year round in Montgomery County but outdoor burning of limbs and leaves is now allowed. Please use common sense and caution when burning outdoors.
