The John Cooper School’s College Signing Day welcomes four students to the next level
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Four student-athletes who attend The John Cooper School were celebrated today at the school’s semi-annual College Signing Day event. Attended by the signers, their families, members of the media, faculty and staff, and hundreds of students, the Dunlap Gym was aroar as seniors Julianne Hon, Monica Ianeva, Tanner Mandalinci, and Darcy Wright formally inked their acceptances into the universities of choice.
The four students who signed their official National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level were:
- Julianne Hon – Volleyball – University of Minnesota Duluth
- Monica Ianeva – Swimming – University of Toronto
- Tanner Mandalinci – Soccer – University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
- Darcy Wright – Golf – Bucknell University
“This is one of the highlights for our student athletes, the culmination of all the efforts that they’ve put in over the school year – the late nights, the early mornings – so that they can have the opportunity to play in college athletics,” John Hoye, Athletics Director at Cooper, told Woodlands Online. “We have four students signing today; we look to have another eight or nine in the spring, and we’re excited for all of them and eager to see how their seasons progress. It’s great to see these Dragons go to the next level, and to follow them, then they come back and tell us about their experiences. The fact that they’re scattered across the country is a great way for us to spread our wings across the nation.”
