John Cooper School preps for new year with admissions events

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The John Cooper School, the local independent, non-sectarian, co-educational, college preparatory day school based in the heart of The Woodlands, is gearing up for the new school year with a series of admissions events to entice parents and their children to come check out what the school has to offer.

The application process for the 2025 - 2026 school year started September 2 and runs through January 17, 2025 for all grades.

The upcoming events include:

• Athletics Preview – 10/10/2024 | 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
• Lower School Open House – 10/26/2024 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 p.m.
• Middle School Open House – 10/26/2024 | 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
• Upper School Open House – 10/26/2024 | 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Fine Arts Preview – 11/14/2024 | 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Currently there are 508 students in Lower School, 324 students in Middle School, and 533 students in Upper School, for a total enrollment of 1,365. The average class sizes tend to be about 18 - 20 in all grades, with the exception of prekindergarten, which is 16. Lower School classrooms have full-time teaching assistants in PK - 1st grades and part-time teaching assistants in 2-5th grades. The average student-teacher ratio is 11:1.
