THE WOODLANDS, TX – Believe it or not, we’re just a few short months away from the 2024 - 2025 school year getting out for the summer. Whether you’re looking to have the existing student in your family placed in a new and better learning environment, or you have a young one just about to dip their toes into the education pool, some local private schools and academies are hosting open houses in the upcoming weeks.

Here’s a sampling of some of these open houses, and don’t forget to stay updated with our comprehensive Private School Guide, which is growing daily with new information, events, and news as we receive it.

Paddington British School – Kindergarten & Primary Grades Open House

Monday, January 27
Starts 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

The privately owned Paddington British Private School has been enriching the lives of children since 1989. Paddington’s advanced academic curriculum is created from aspects of the British system and is enhanced by their exceptional Fine Arts program, which supports the growth of the whole child by developing both the artistic and academic side of the brain. It includes classical music, orchestra, dance, movement, visual arts, foreign languages and etiquette, along with countless musicals in which the children perform throughout the year.

Paddington has a select group of highly qualified, skilled, and degreed directors, administrators, and teachers from all over the world, who have educational degrees and a combined 100-plus years of experience. They are certified in CPR, First Aid, Heimlich Maneuver and SIDS Prevention.

At the Open House they will have a PowerPoint presentation, and parents will have the opportunity to meet the teachers and learn about the school’s unique curriculum and program. There is also the opportunity for a full Q & A session.

Lake Creek Academy – Grand Opening & Open House

Lake Creek Academy is a new inclusive secular private school in the North Woodlands area that is committed to providing safe and nurturing spaces where students can learn, grow, and express themselves freely. Founded in August 2023, the academy started as a secular, science-focused homeschool group with five students in a small home for grades 3 - 6 in 2023 - 2024 and grades 4 - 7 in the fall of 2024.

The move to their campus on Pin Oak Drive – off FM 1488 – this month is opening the curriculum to be inclusive of grades K - 12. On February 15, they are presenting a Grand Opening and Open House. Come to the new campus for a fun afternoon of meeting the academy teachers, learning about their vision, touring the campus, and involving yourself in the future of your children’s education.

To ensure visitors of all ages are entertained, there will be games and a bounce house, along with light refreshments.

The Woodlands Christian Academy – College Admissions Workshop

Founded in 1993, The Woodlands Christian Academy is a private, college preparatory Christian school, covering grades pre-kindergarten through 12th, and serving 600 students. Their mission is to challenge each student to achieve their highest potential – spiritually, intellectually, creatively, physically, and socially – all for the glory of Jesus Christ. Special curricula include STEM, Fine Arts, Athletics, Spanish Immersion, and Christian Development & Leadership. The academy’s open-to-the-public College Admissions Workshop is your insider’s pass to understanding the complex world of college applications. Last year, The Woodlands Christian Academy hosted the inaugural version of this workshop that transformed parents into admissions professionals for a day. This year, the experience is even bigger and better. Academy administrators have invited college representatives from Texas universities and out-of-state schools, giving you a chance to step into an admissions counselor’s shoes, understand the holistic review process, ask burning questions directly to college reps, gain insider insights into what makes a standout application, and hear first-hand changes and expectations directly from college admissions reps.

Whether you're the parent of a sophomore or a soon-to-be middle school student, this workshop demystifies the college admissions process and empowers you to better support your student’s journey. Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy – Informational Meeting & Tours

Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy partners with parents to provide a preK - 12 college-preparatory, Christian education that produces academically successful, character witnesses of Christ.

Founded in 2005, Legacy Preparatory meets on a University-Style schedule, meaning your child will develop the skills of an independent learner far sooner than the traditional types of schooling allows and create a smooth transition as they enter the college of their choice.

The information meeting is a required part of the admissions process. At the meeting, you will learn about Legacy’s core values, philosophy of education and university-model schooling. Due to the length of the meeting, school-aged children are welcome to attend with parents.

Join the meeting at 6:00 p.m. to learn more about how to become a Legacy Lion for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Tours are offered before and after the meeting at 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
