SAN JACINTO COUNTY, TX -- The Woodlands Fire Department (TWFD) Hazmat Team is actively responding to a major chemical spill involving Sulphur Dioxide in San Jacinto County. The incident occurred near the intersection of FM 1725 and FM 3081 after a truck carrying the chemical overturned, spilling its contents and prompting an extensive emergency response.

TWFD is working alongside the Conroe Fire Department Hazmat Team and the Harris County Hazardous Materials Response Team to mitigate the hazardous situation. These specialized teams are employing advanced techniques and equipment to contain and neutralize the spill, ensuring the safety of first responders and the surrounding community.

Additional support is being provided by several local and regional agencies, including:

  • Montgomery County Hospital District
  • Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office
  • Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management
