CLEVELAND, TX -- On February 5, 2025, at about 8:30 AM, members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force located a fugitive, Joshua Star (35), at the 19000 block of Highway 105 East, Cleveland, Texas. Star is wanted for parole violation related to a Felony Burglary of a Habitation charge. When officers attempted to make contact, Star ignored commands and barricaded himself inside the building. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiations Team arrived on scene to assist. Negotiators were able to successfully convince Star to surrender, at which time he was taken into custody without incident. Star is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail.

“I am amazed by the courage and dedication everyone showed today at such a complex scene. I could not be more proud of the teams who are working hard to keep our county safe. Thank you all for your incredible service!” — Sheriff Wesley Doolittle
