THE WOODLANDS, TX – On his official social media, Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough expressed support for a road bond approval that will find itself up for vote in the May 3 joint election.

“Montgomery County has experienced significant growth in recent years, with more residents and businesses calling our community home. While this growth brings exciting opportunities, it has also led to one of the most pressing challenges: traffic congestion. To address these concerns, the Commissioners Court today approved a $480 million road bond proposal, which will be put to a vote on May 3rd,” said Keough on his Facebook page.

According to Keough, this bond proposal is designed to improve roads, easing traffic snarls and improving travel times across the county. The improvements, he stated, will make a huge difference for Montgomery County’s families, businesses, and future.

One of the key factors in making this proposal even more impactful is the county's triple-A credit rating and its history of conservative budgeting. Thanks to these financial strengths, the bond will not increase the tax rate for residents, meaning these critical improvements can be accomplished without adding extra burden on local taxpayers, according to Keough.

“Montgomery County is thriving, and this proposal will ensure that we have the infrastructure to support that growth. Your vote matters and I urge you to stay informed and participate in the upcoming election. Let's work together to keep our roads safe and our community moving forward!” said Keough in his statement.

The deadline to register to vote for the May 3 joint election is April 3. To determine your voter registration status, or for more information, visit https://elections.mctx.org/.
