MAGNOLIA, TX -- On February 15, 2025, the Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office became aware of a threat made on social media by a 24-year-old man named Erik Taylor.

Erik was a former teacher for the Magnolia Independent School District and taught at Magnolia West High School. He appeared to be very disgruntled, as seen in several social media posts. His statements concluded with a threat to burn down the school if his demand was not met. Precinct 5 constables immediately investigated the threat and interviewed Erik at his home. At the conclusion of the investigation, Erik Taylor was arrested for "Terroristic Threat" (Texas Penal Code 22.07), and charges were accepted by the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. Magnolia ISD has been notified that it is safe to resume all regular school activities on Monday morning, and students are safe to return.

Constable Chris Jones and the Precinct 5 constables work directly with the Magnolia Independent School District on a daily basis to keep the students, staff, and visitors of the district safe. MISD is a great school district and will remain safe to attend. We will continue to take every threat seriously and investigate them quickly to ensure safety at MISD campuses.

If you are aware of any threats or illegal activity, please contact the Precinct 5 Constable’s Office at 281-259-6493 or visit our website, CONSTABLE5.ORG, to provide an anonymous tip.
